Flyers get Meszaros for 2nd round pick, Coburn signed

The Philadelphia Flyers didn’t waste any time in grabbing another defensemen. At the spark of noon, GM Paul Holmgren traded away a 2nd-round pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning for defensemen Andrej Meszaros.

The 6-2 223-pounder who didn’t quite achieve his offensive potential in Tampa, comes to a Philly team who was in need of another big hitting d-man. Meszaros, 25, is a speedy big man who hits like a truck and can score when pushed to do so.

UPDATE:

The Flyers have resigned defensemen Braydon Coburn to a 2-year deal worth $6.4 million with an annual cap hit of $3.2 per.

One of two things are left. 1. The Flyers are done signing. 2. They have a trade coming up.

We’ll see.
